Made in 1865. All matching numbers including the wedge. Standard Navy features including round barrel, cylinder is neither fluted nor rebated, and brass trigger guard and back strap. This gun features what appears to be about B/C coverage in Gustave Young American Bank Note scroll style with the wolf head engraved hammer. You will find engraving on the cylinder, barrel, frame, hammer, trigger guard, and back strap. The grips are checkered ivory with Mexican eagle on left panel. ".36 Cal" is stamped on left side of trigger guard. Comes in a beautiful period wood case with more recent powder flask and unmarked brass bullet mold as well as the rod and cap tin. CONDITION: Very good. All metal is a soft, homogenous grey patina, but the cylinder and barrel appear to have been cleaned. Crisp punch dot background engraving, strong one line Colt New York barrel address and Colt's patent on left side of frame. The ivory grips have toned and have several age stress cracks with repairs to left front toe and a plug on right side. The action indexes correctly. Bore is well defined but does have abrasion.
