Standard mid-1880s cavalry revolver. The left grip panel is dated 1884 with the FH cartouche stamp near base (Frank Heath) with DFC (David Clark) cartouche on right side with small DFC stamp on bottom left panel. All matching numbers include the barrel, which is also stamped DFC and proof P. Cylinder has the DFC stamp as does the frame. There is a matching pencil number inside the grip channel. The finish is blue and case with one piece walnut grips and oval ejector head. Left side of frame has three line patent date legend. Barrel has the one line Colt legend. Butt has an engraved 20 (rack or unit). Assembly number on gate is 506. CONDITION: Very good. All metal has turned a soft homogenous patina. Barrel legends are all legible but thinning. Action operates correctly with strong half cock. Rifling is well defined but does have minor abrasions. Grips are excellent.
