Arguably, one of the most famed weapons of the Civil War due to its large capacity butt fed tube magazine. The tube held seven cartridges and if you had a loaded 10 Tube Blakeslee cartridge box over your shoulder, you had 77 rounds of ammunition at your disposal by simply slipping in another loaded tube. It was one of the most sought after carbines by the cavalry, and as such, most 1860 models saw heavy use. This standard carbine features the round barrel, single barrel band, post front sight, folding ladder rear sight, saddle ring and bar, walnut stock with metal butt plate, loading tube and matching forearm. Receiver was case color as was lever, hammer and butt plate with blue barrel. The Spencer factory legend was stamped on receiver forward flat. CONDITION: Good. The factory 1860 Model legend is no longer visible. All metal finish is a grey patina with overall toning and freckling. The stock is solid, proud to metal with usual dings with some added finish. There is a large letter A carved on both sides. Forearm is in similar condition. Action works correctly. Bore is sharp, well defined, almost bright with some light abrasions.
