This very early civilian Colt features the standard blue and case color finish with varnished one piece walnut grips. Matching numbers on frame, cylinder, barrel, back strap and trigger guard. The barrel was condemned is stamped "C", with a proof P and J.T.C. (John T. Cleveland). The serial number range for Cleveland inspected Colts were 30693-35569. The left side of frame bears the three line patent date legend. The left side trigger guard is stamped "45 CAL". The loading gate has 401 assembly number. Back of cylinder has a C stamp. Top of barrel has one line Colt legend. The ejector rod head is oval type. CONDITION: Fine. The frame retains about 30% color, some still bright with very strong colors inside protected areas. The barrel retains at least 70%+ bright blue mixing patina coming through. The ejector housing has nearly all the bright blue along the barrel with balance patina. The cylinder is a soft patina. The grips retain most of the varnish except at base. Hammer still retains some case color. All legends are crisp. The action indexes correctly but half notch loading position does not engage. The bore is strong and bright. It is extremely rare to find a pre-1880 civilian single action in such fine condition.
