This pistol is not listed as issued in Williams & Brunner's "U.S. General Officer Pistols: A Collectors Guide". Classic configuration with serrated slope front sight, square notch flat top rear sight, Colt patent and address information on left side, Rampant Colt at rear, right side with "COLT AUTOMATIC / CALIBRE 32 RIMLESS SMOKELESS". Right side of frame with "U.S. PROPERTY" and "44" inspector on trigger guard, left with serial number, crossed cannon cartouche, and Colt VP proof on trigger guard. Checkered walnut grips with Colt medallions. CONDITION: Very good, retaining virtually all of the parkerized finish with some thinning to slide chin, scattered handling marks, and thinning to silver on high edge. Burnishing still visible at VP and crossed cannon proofs, with distension about others from application of stamp. Mechanically fine, bore with good rifling, and a mixture of frosting and firing residue throughout. Grips very good with some abraded heads.
