Between 1865 and 1867, about 2000 1861 Models were converted to .58 Rimfire using the George Miller patent system and work performed by the Meriden Manufacturing Co. of West Meriden, Massachusetts. Barrel is shortened to 33 -1/2" with added sleeve, two barrel bands, dan 1861 dated "PARKER SNOW Meriden Conn." lock. The Miller conversion block with their legend. Walnut stock is nearly full length. Rear sight is standard folding leaf with reset post front sight. Metal is in-the-white except the Miller block, which is blue. The barrel is rifled with exception to the last 2" at muzzle. CONDITION. Good. The white metal is a soft patina. Legends are crisp. Stock has numerous dings with light hairlines on left side by conversion. Bore is defined with abrasions. Working order.
