This is a New Service double action revolver adopted by the Government as one of the preeminent service revolvers from 1911-1912; a total of 18,000 were issued. United States Property is stamped on base of barrel. The butt is stamped "U.S. ARMY MODEL 1909". The right side of frame has the RAC inspector stamp for Rinaldo Carr as well as F.B. for Francis Baker. The back of cylinder also has the RAC stamp as does the base of barrel. Finish is standard blue with two piece smooth walnut grips and lanyard ring. CONDITION: Very good. The left side panel has some pitting with extra wiped on finish. Balance of gun shows about 70% original blue starting to mix plum and overall high edge holster wear. Grips are excellent but a bit shy and do not have the RAC stamp, indicating replacement. Action is crisp. Bore is bright.
