In the final months of WWII as the Allied forces pushed inwards toward Germany, assembly of Radom pistols was moved from Poland to Steyr run facilities. Initially using eagle over "77" marked Radom production parts, Steyr also began production of parts. This 1945 production H block example (production concluding in the K block) was built with these late Steyr parts, marked only with eagle over "623" assembly proofs. Additional eagle over "N" stamps have also been added. Pistol is classic late war configuration with phosphate finish, salt blued small parts, and unfinished serrated wood grips. Matching numbers observed on frame, slide, and barrel. No visible import marks. CONDITION: Fair. Pistol retains the vast majority of its arsenal finish, an area on the left side cleaned bright. Spring housing is an ill fitting replacement retaining the majority of its reapplied chrome finish. Grips are fine with some grain separation. Very fine, bright bore. Pistol is not currently operable and is missing a few internal components in the hammer assembly. A worthy candidate for restoration.
