Lot consists of: (A) M1840 "Wristbreaker" heavy cavalry saber in standard configuration. Unmarked blade exhibits a subtle gray patina with edge wear. Guard with mellow patina. Leather wraps is present with some loss. Wire is tight. Scabbard with chocolate patina. CONDITION: Good. (B) M1872 cavalry saber in standard configuration. Ricasso is marked "THE / PETTIBONE / BROS / MFG. Co. / CINTI. O.". Blade features etched panels for about half its length with a gray patina and pitting. Evidence of an older cleaning. Mellow patina to guard with intact leather wrap and wire on grip. CONDITION: Fair.
