The Vickers Lugers were assembled, finished and proofed in England after receiving the parts from DWM in Germany. They were then shipped to the Dutch East Indies for service. These guns saw heavy use and were all arsenal refinished. The year on the top rear of the barrel is the year that each gun was refinished. This gun has a date of 1929 on it. There is a British proof on the breech block, under the barrel and both toggle links. The front toggle link markings are "VICKERS / LTD". The Queen Wilhelmina proof is on the left front of the receiver. RUST with an arrow pointing up is above the thumb safety lever. Wide grip safety with two piece course checkered wood grips. Nickel magazine with a blank wood bottom. Matching numbers gun except the firing pin. It is number 22. The grip safety has too much pitting to clearly read the number. This gun has a brass plague on the left side of the receiver. It is a unit mark. "M.L. Tjil. / 158" CONDITION: This gun has some of the re-applied arsenal finish. There is light pitting scattered across the gun. Dark bore with light pitting and frosting in the lands and grooves. The arsenal grips do not fit the gun and have a chip out of the inside of the right grip. It has been glue repaired.
