Manufactured in 1837 by Asa Waters for US Government use in classic configuration throughout. Barrel is US proofed and inspector marked "JH" near breech. Left flat of stock opposite lock is marked with "JCS" and "HKC" inspector cartouches. CONDITION: Good, with iron assemblies turned a freckled brown patina. Stock has been lightly sanded and a new layer of finish added with repaired crack down the belly of the stock between barrel band and trigger guard and small crack near lock retaining screw. Mechanically fine with 2 stops at half and full cock. Bore is dark.
