Very attractive nice display piece (non-gun) Vickers machine gun, which includes some desirable parts and a fine functional tripod. Many pieces are “DP” marked, including brush cap on handles, top cover, steel feed block (which appears completely serviceable), barrel, water jacket, and tripod (also appears completely serviceable). The sideplates of this display non-gun are extra-thick internally so this piece cannot be restored to a firing condition, and the lock has been shaved to fit as a consequence. Yet still, until one examines this piece closely and looks inside the action, this is a very convincing display. There is a complete, apparently serviceable, original armored muzzle on this gun, complete with original chains and cork hardware. Many of the parts here are desirable themselves, and enhance to value of this display piece which is of museum quality. Just the thing for a collector who resides in a state hostile to machine gun ownership, or otherwise wants a classic for a World War I display. JWK 2024-12-42.
