Assembled at the Steyr factory in occupied Austria from Radom wz. 1929 rifle parts captured after the German invasion in 1939. These rifles were built for only 3 years, 1940-1942 with a total production of only 54,500 units. This early example was manufactured in 1940 and is marked on the receiver ring with the date and "660" manufacture code. Standard configuration throughout with blued finish, hooded blade front sight, tangent rear, and desirable eagle over "M" Kriegsmarine acceptance stamped red glue laminate stock. Complete with cross hatch pattern leather sling. CONDITION: Very good. Approximately 90% arsenal finish with areas of thinning and freckling. Stock has scattered mild impressions throughout. Stamps are legible. Externally visible numbers matching except for the rear bottom metal screw. Strong, well defined bore with frosting and fouling. Fine mechanics.
