Harry McGowen starting building custom barrels in 1959. This is a full length Mannlicher Steyr that sports a McGowen custom 7x57 barrel. Standard features include a checkered walnut stock with pistol grip, cap, straight comb, roll over cheek piece, steel trap door butt plate and swivels. Metal finish is blue and sports double set triggers (working), a butter knife bolt, ramp front sight and a two leaf rear sight. There is a scope base mounted and , once removed, you can see that the only remaining legend on receiver bridge is patent mark as balance has been dove tailed and filled. There is a dyno tape caliber stuck on floor plate (can be removed). CONDITION: Excellent. Retains 98% blue with light handling and a few minor spots of rust spotting at front sight base. Stock shows sharp checkering, some added finish and scattered small dings and impressions. Bore is bright.
