Manufacture of these Steyr SS contract K98s was separate from standard production in 1943 and 1944, assembly done at the Gusen subcamp of Malthausen. Receiver ring stamped with the characteristic single rune between the "bnz" code and "43" date. Blued Steyr marked barrel with hooded blade front sight and tangent rear. Laminate stocks mounted with milled parts and cupped "brg" subcontracted butt plate. Externally visible numbers matching. No visible import marks. Complete with a nice cross hatch pattern leather sling. CONDITION" Good. Rifle retains portions of thinning arsenal finish giving way to gray patina with an added layer of protective coating. Stocks have some scattered impressions and dings, mostly light with a few deeper marks. Strong, frosted bore. Fine mechanics.
