Manufactured in 1908. This deluxe features a full octagon barrel, take down, half magazine, German silver tip front sight, semi buckhorn rear sight and sports a period unmarked 3/4" tube scope with Malcom type adjustable mounts. The deluxe stock features a hand cut checkered pistol grip with Winchester cap, butt plate and matching forearm. There is a letter from Cody stating that the magazine was shortened as the Maxim silencer would not fit with a full magazine, thus the half mag with the tube hanger cut still present. Both the barrel and receiver have the PW proof with the two line Winchester barrel legend on top. They surmise that the gun was returned to factory to fit for Maxim. They also surmise that scope was probably installed by factory. Of course, none of this is documented. The gun has been restored. CONDITION: Excellent as restored showing light handling only with some light stock dings and impressions. The checkering is sharp, the grain is brilliant and exhibits the piano type finish. Bore is bright. The standard cross hair reticle is clear. Any competent gunsmith could add a near full length tube to allow for the Maxim, install a tube hanger and you would not have to fill the hanger cut or refinish. Cool gun and any deluxe 92 is scarce.
