Winchester made bayonet for the US M1917 Rifle with its first variant, first type scabbard. The bayonet blade shows a gray patina, blue fnish on pommel, guard, and lower ricasso. The obverse blade has an ordnance bomb, with inspection and proof marks. The reverse bears the 1917 pattern date over a Winchester logo. The wood grips exhibit distinct grooves with a few dings. The pommel and guard, like the lower ricasso, show blued finish with patina. The scabbard is the early US use of the British style, though with the body painted olive drab. The metal throat and tip show a chocolate patina. Scabbard is sturdy. CONDITION: Good.
