1864 dated secondary US Civil War era martial rifled musket that found its way into Native American hands. This fine example of a frontier altered weapon exhibits a cut-down barrel, a broken wrist repaired with small nails, removed and heavily worn ramrod channel, pewter filled area where rear sight once was, copper wire wrapping, altered and shaved down butt stock profile, an addition of rows of brass tacks. Stock has an 'A' carved into that was most likely Civil War done prior to the gun changing hands. Hammer works but spring is weak on full cock. Overall dark and mottled finish on lockplate, barrel, and iron furniture. CONDITION: Good / relic.
