In 1967-68, Colt released their WWI famous battles Model 1911s. This example shipped 6-3, 1979 For this series, Colt had their master engraver Alvin White finish 25 of each of the four battles with his talented work. The blued gun features nearly full coverage C grade hand engraving and each is signed in a gold grid inside the right grip frame. This example represents the Battle of the Marne. This gun also features gold inlay bands and ribbon borders. The white French holly wood grips have the commemorative coins on both panels. Gun is housed in the wood display case. CONDITION: Excellent. Shows as near new condition with light handling. Gun has a discreet import stamp at well.
