Tex and his horse Patches is one of Colt's iconic posters. There are five variations of this poster, and this example is a large text version. The original painting was by Frank Schoonover. It was first published in 1916 and again in 1923, before it was released by Colt as a poster in 1926. It is based on a local sheriff, Rex Randerson, who was an individual Schoonover met in Montana in 1905; as it was painted under contract with Colt, it features the iconic Single Action Army on the sheriff's hip. It comes with the original letter from Schoonover dated May 11th, 1926. CONDITION: It is in excellent condition with no visible defects. We cannot see if it has the metal bands because of the matting.
