In 1981 Colt produced this gun to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Browning patent for the Colt Model 1911. This edition features gold leaf scroll engraved panels on both sides of the slide with special legends. Finish is high polish blue and the features are like those found on the pre-1924 guns such as the long smooth trigger, double diamond checkered walnut grips, flat mainspring housing with loop, lanyard loop magazine, checkered wide spur hammer, slide stop and safety with bevel edge U-notch rear sight. CONDITION: Excellent. Shows as near new with light handling. Comes in matching box with hang tag and wood display case. Gun has a discreet import stamp at well.
