(A) Faux Striped Percussion Kentucky Indian trade rifle. Heavy octagon barrel, flat percussion lock with stamp engraving. Brass furniture including rocker panel, engraved patchbox, baluster ramrod ferrules and a thin sheet silver band at ramrod entry hole. The maple stock has stained striping and a checkered decoration on top of the cheekpiece, appears to be Indian added. Small silver oval inlaid on wrist. CONDITION: Barrel retains a dark patina with pitting at breech, lock partially cleaned, does not hold on full cock and has some pitting. Brass mostly polished. Stock shows some wear and marks from use. (B) Percussion Kentucky rifle. Octagon barrel, unmarked percussion lock. Plain brass furniture. Stock of highly figured tiger maple. Double set triggers. CONDITION: Barrel retains a brown patina, replaced lock has a grey patina, nipple a replacement, lock functions well. Brass has a mustard patina, stock very good.
