Very attractive early Lehigh County rifle with octagon barrel and flat Germanic lock. The brass furniture includes a nearly straight wide early buttplate measuring 2" in center excluding the patchbox. Lehigh triggerguard. Partially figured maple stock of Lehigh form with its original sliding wood patchbox. CONDITION: Barrel retains a heavy brown patina. Lock is a reconversion. Stock shows scattered age cracks and marks from use. Some small slivers replaced around lock. A very attractive rifle. This rifle was shown in the 3/19/1998 David Condon catalog on page 30 as number 161.
