Henry Pickel worked in York County, Pennsylvania. This rifle features an octagon barrel signed "Hny Pickel" on the top flat in script. The lockplate is also inscribed "Pickel" in the center. The brass furniture includes a four piece engraved patchbox and an engraved sideplate. The figured tiger maple stock features a diamond section checkered wrist. CONDITION: Barrel retains a light brown patina with some added finish towards breech. The lock is a reconversion and retains a grey patina with some light pitting. Stock shows some marks from use and a small piece replaced above rear lock tang. One barrel key is missing.
