This massive gun measures 70" overall and the tapered thick-walled barrel has a 7/8" bore diameter, marked with British proofs toward breech. Massive dog-lock mechanism with center of flat plate stamped "BEMISTER". Barrel retained by three massive brass bands. Oversized brass trigger guard for use with gloves. Robust stock of ash or oak. Complete with its wood ramrod, possibly original. CONDITION: Barrel retains a brown patina, markings somewhat obliterated due to pitting. Lock is in its original flintlock configuration and functions but has no half-cock, markings very good. Brass retains a pleasing dark mustard patina. Stock shows one crack in front of one of the lock retaining bolts. A very nice seal hunting gun.
