This Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania rifle has a rifled octagonal barrel inscribed "J.H. Johnston" on the top flat. The stamp-engraved percussion lockplate is marked "Josh Golcher" in center. Double set triggers. The brass furniture includes an engraved four-piece patchbox and an engraved sideplate. There is an oval silver inlay above the cheekpiece that is engraved with an eagle. Four silver inlays along each side of forend. Complete with a replaced ramrod. CONDITION: Barrel retains a grey patina with scattered marks. Percussion drum is modern. Lock retains a freckled grey patina. Brass retains a dark mustard patina. Stock dark with much original finish and some damage to finish around lock from moisture. Stock has scattered marks from use, minor losses and age cracks.
