This Northampton County rifle features an octagonal barrel. The replaced lock is marked "R. ASHMORE / WARRANTED". The brass furniture includes an engraved four-piece patchbox, Lehigh trigger guard, and sideplate terminating in a point. The partially figured tiger maple stock is of Lehigh form and is profusely carved with relief and incised stylized Lehigh County designs. Complete with an original wooden ramrod. CONDITION: Barrel retains a brown surface. Lock is a replacement and in its original flintlock configuration, needs adjustment, and frizzen screw is an improper replacement. Stock shows scattered marks from use, wear and a small piece replaced at toe. Some minor chipping around lock.
