The heavy deeply-rifled octagon barrel features a swamped muzzle, decorative rear sight, and silver-inlaid signature on top flat that reads "FERDINAND ECKERT IN BAMBERG". Convex percussion lock. Carved walnut stock with brass furniture. Remnants of sling are with the rifle. CONDITION: Barrel shows a brown patina with areas of heavy rust and scattered pitting. Lock retains a light grey patina and functions well. Brass has a mustard patina. Nosecap is absent. Stock has two period repairs on each side of barrel at muzzle. Stock has scattered bruising a crack through buttstock and marks from use.
