Designed as a full size .22 caliber M1903 gallery practice rifle utilizing chamber inserts, 15,525 were manufactured between 1907 and 1918 with a very low survival rate today. This example was manufactured on a 1911 dated Springfield receiver. Currently fitted with a correct "11-20" dated Springfield replacement barrel. Blade front sight and later 2700 yard ladder rear sight. Finished in full arsenal applied parkerized finish. Two piece finger groove walnut stocks marked on the left flat with a boxed David Leary "D.A.L." inspector cartouche and "2D". CONDITION: Very good. Nearly all of the arsenal applied finishes are retained throughout with some mild wear on the front sight base as well as thinning on the floor plate. Stock has scattered dings and nicks but presents very well. Strong bore with cleaned abrasions throughout. Fine mechanics. No cartridge holders are included.
