The Aydt system was designed by German gunsmith Carl Wilhelm Aydt (1847-1923) and patented in 1885. This rifle features a blue octagon barrel with flutes, a fully engraved receiver done in Germanic floret scroll surrounding a winged cherub on both sides. Typical Schuetzen style checkered walnut stock with cheek piece and thumb rest, swivels, heavy steel swiss butt plate, double set triggers (working), large target lollipop tang sight, military style rear barrel sight and a front sight with ear protectors. CONDITION: Excellent. Barrel retains at least 95% blue with light handling. Receiver is a dull gray. Stock is excellent with scattered impressions. Bore is sharp.
