The second model Allin used a sleeved original 1861/63 barrel to .50 caliber. The "(Eagle) US SPRINGFIELD" marked lock is dated 1865. The block is dated 1866 with an eagle head. The rear sight is a Civil War era folding leaf. Rifle sports three bands, metal rod, full length walnut stock with an "ESA" cartouche for Erskine Allin. Barrel was finished in-the-white, block has a blue finish. Bands are patina. CONDITION: Excellent. Stock has bold cartouche and some scattered dings. The barrel is smooth brown patina. Most of blue remains on black. Bore is bright.
