After the Mauser Factory was liberated in 1945, the French Army continued production of P.38 pistols until 1947 for French military and police use. This brushed blue finished g production block example is stamped on the slide with correct post-war "SVW / 45" code and French star proof. Strawed small parts and ribbed hard rubber wrap around grips. Underside of slide bears an import marking. Externally visible numbers matching. Complete with a "jvd" marked magazine, unmarked magazine, 1943 dated "joa" black leather holster, and a full 1944 16-round packet of German 9mm ammunition. CONDITION: Very good. Some mild high edge and muzzle wear present, along with other signs of careful use. Grips likewise have have scattered light nicks and scratches but rate fine overall. Fine bright bore with crisp rifling. Fine mechanics. Holster shows moderate wear and age but remains supple and serviceable.

ADDENDUM: A box for this pistol has been provided and photos updated.
