Manufactured in October - December 1891; this is the date with a "SWP" cartouche for Sam Porter on left side of stock along with cursive P on wrist. Features the built in rod bayonet, Buffington rear sight, blue finish, two barrel bands, post and blade front sight, sling swivels, 1884 dated block, and Springfield eagle lock. CONDITION: Fine. There are flashes of case color on block, 90% thinning blue on barrel with some age freckles. Stock is excellent with scattered dings but some of the best wood we have seen on a trapdoor. Bore is bright.
