This is the second conversion with the 1866 dated block and eagle head. The lock is dated 1864. All metal in-the-white with exception to blackened breech block. Still features three bands, swivels, metal rod, 1863 style folding leaf rear sight, and full length walnut stock. Left side of stock has bold "JT" and "WAT" cartouche inspection stamps for John Taylor and William Thornton. CONDITION: Excellent. All metal has oxidized to a soft grey with exception to black. Stocks is excellent with usual minor dings. There is a rack or unit number on left side reads 8876. Bore is still bright. This is a crisp example.
