This rifle was made as early as 1883, well after the buffalo were virtually wiped out, but this rifle is a Big 50, probably a 50-90 Sharps straight. The full heavy octagon barrel is flush to frame and has the E. Remington legend on top with a knife blade front sight and a semi buckhorn rear sight. (looks like a replacement it has much more blue than balance of gun). Both the stock and forearm are replacements but fit well. Butt plate is smooth steel. CONDITION: Good. Barrel shows a textured brown patina with sharp legend. Case colors on frame have turned a dark patina. Newer stocks are excellent. Action is working. Bore is sharp and almost bright.
