Designed specifically for Artillery units and only produced for the German army from 1914-1918. The artillery features the long barrel, a wind drift front sight blade on base, fine adjustable rear sight to 800 meters. All other features are standard Luger. This gun has all visible matching numbers with exception to the checkered walnut grips which are not numbered and the nickel body wood base magazine with number 3816. The back strap is cut to accept a stock. Finish is rust blue with straw color small parts. The toggle has the script DWM (Mauser) logo. The chamber is dated 1917. Right side of frame has four German imperial proof marks. This gun comes with the complete original rig to include the wooden stock, serial number 6801 (not matching) with large cartouche, two magazine leather pouch and the original holster marked STERN & Co. 1915. There is no loading tool and the rod which we cannot guarantee. CONDITION: Excellent. Solid 95% blue and straw remain. There is usual high edge holster wear on side plate, forward rails, muzzle and some handling marks. Bore is bright. The rig is also in excellent condition, no apparent repairs but lower retaining leather cap shows roughness and the leather cap is present but detached and missing strap. A wonderful Artillery WWI outfit.
