Manufactured by CZ in 1939, no deliveries could be made prior to the German occupation. Rather than seeing service with the Czech Army as intended, these pistols were used by German police and other armed forces as the P.39(t) pistol. This nice early example is finished in lustrous blue with straw small parts. Standard Pre-War Czech proofs and slide legend. Grips are checkered brown wraparound composite construction with CZ logos. Matching numbers observed on frame and slide. No visible import marks. Accompanied by a 1940 dated leather hard shell C. Budischowsky P.38 holster with Finnish property marking on the flap. CONDITION: Very Good. Approximately 90%+ original finish with some mild wear. Grips have some scattered handling marks. Mirror bore. Fine mechanics. Holster rates very good.
