It is built on the square butt five screw N frame with pinned barrel. Features the high polish blue finish, case color hammer and trigger, smooth two piece walnut grips, lanyard ring, and tall half moon style front sight with step. Military sub inspector stamp "(eagle head) / S24" on cylinder with "S7" on frame. The left side of frame has the ordnance bomb stamp. No S&W logo on frame (correct) with factory legend on top of barrel. Butt is stamped "US ARMY MODEL 1917". This revolver is unusual in that the "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" stamp usually found at base of barrel is not there nor ever was. All matching numbers. CONDITION: Excellent. There is a cylinder drag line and a hint of muzzle wear and minor handling. Solid 98%+ original bright blue finish. Strong case colors. Grips are excellent. Acton is smooth. Bore is bright. Comes with WWII holster. An extremely high condition gun and a rare factory error barrel.
