Jonathan Dunmeyer worked in Bedford County, Pennsylvania. This rifle features a two-stage buck-and-ball barrel. The percussion lockplate is inscribed "J D" on lock. Double-set triggers. Foliate scroll engraved two-piece patchbox. Engraved brass sideplate. Tiger maple stock with incise-carved scrolls on left side of buttstock, on both sides of wrist and around barrel tang. Some more simple incised carving elsewhere. Replaced wood ramrod. CONDITION: Barrel retains a light brown patina. Lock strong but may need adjustment, retains a grey patina with some light freckling. Brass retains a dark mustard patina. Stock very good with age crack at toe.
