Made in Middletown, Connecticut. This example is dated 1850 on upper tang and lock. Maker legend on lock as well. Left side of barrel is stamped "US" with "GW" inspector stamp for George Wright. The left side of walnut stock has deep inspector stamps for George Wright and William Thornton. Features iron hardware, brass furniture, and swivel metal rod. CONDITION: Very good. Iron is all a smooth homogenous patina. All legends are crisp. Stock is excellent with minor dings and impressions. There is a 1/8" hairline on left side at breech. Brass has toned. Action works correctly. Bore is dark. A really sharp untouched example.
