Manufactured in 1939. The walnut stock features the typical three diamond checkered panels at forearms base as well as standard pattern on forearm and pistol grip with a Winchester cap, checkered steel butt plate, black forearm tip, straight comb, roll over cheek piece and wears Super grade type swivels. The floor plate is stamped SPORTING and has the Winchester marked magazine. Metal finish is rust blue with a hooded ramp front sight, barrel not cut for a rear sight, Lyman 48 style peep sight with Winchester barrel legends on left side. CONDITION: EXCELLENT. This beautiful rifle retains nearly 99% blue finish with minor handling only, strong legends, excellent stocks, sharp checkering with just minor impressions. Bore is well defined but grooves are frosted.
