This 1958 rifle was assembled and finished in California using the improved commercial K-98 type German action. Finish is high polish blue with no barrel sights and sports Redfield scope bases. The walnut stock is finished in the early type reddish hue. Checkering is standard catalog basket weave. Stock sports the contrasting rosewood forend tip and grip cap with white diamond. Stock has typical Monte Carlo comb with roll over cheek piece, early style Weatherby waffle pad and sling eyes. CONDITION: Fine. The muzzle shows wear and there are scattered handling marks. Most of the floor plate finish has turned patina. The base of pistol grip has a scrape and a stain on diamond. Checkering is still sharp. Stock shows some finish crazing along with scattered dings and scrapes. The bore is bright. Would not take a lot of work to bring this rifle up to snuff.
