The inspector cartouche on right side reads OGEK. Famed gun writer Elmer Keith worked at the Ogden Arsenal during WW II. This war rebuild is a Winchester and still has a Winchester bolt handle. The stock is Eddystone as is the bolt release. The rear sight is Remington as is the 11-18 dated barrel. All metal was refinished at time in dark parkerized finish. The stock was also refinished at the time. Rifle still has all the standard features of a 1917. The sling is a steel frog WWII era. CONDITION: Excellent as arsenal refurbished. The front band has turned patina as has the front sight, balance of metal retains majority of matte blue / black parkerized finish. The stocks are excellent with usual minor dings and impressions. Bore is well defined but shows residue and abrasions. Comes with a 1917 dated US bayonet and sheath.
