Although Yugoslavia did not originally produce M48 rifles in sniper configuration, it is believed some were built for use in the 1990s during the Bosnian War. Rifle remains in standard military configuration with blued finish, hooded front sight, tangent rear, stamped floor plate, and 2-piece hardwood stock. The receiver has been drilled and tapped with attached quick detach ZRAK bases holding a Bosnian ZRAK 6x32 scope complete with rubber eyepiece. Externally visible numbers matching. Import marked on the underside of the barrel. CONDITION: Fine overall. Bountiful amounts of arsenal applied blue are retained throughout with handling marks and high edge silvering. Stock is very good showing only minor impressions and crazing. Right side of butt also has numerous pinpoint impressions, likely from a solder pressing the tip of a bullet into the stock. Fine, bright bore with crisp rifling. Fine mechanics. Clear optics.
