Circa 1860s-1870s Papal Zouave uniform consisting of a jacket, vest, and trousers. The uniform is constructed of gray wool with red trim and brass buttons. The Papal Zouaves were a regiment of volunteers from all over Christendom who banded together to defend Pope Pius IX and his temporal sovereignty between 1860-1871. The uniform remains clean overall with scattered stains. Light mothing with tight stitching and intact buttons. No visible names or markings. CONDITION: Good.
