Early 19th-century pipe tomahawk that exhibits traits of the transition from the eastern form into the western shape. Taller bowl, heavier rings, chevron and heavier molding. Haft is drilled for smoking, heavily decorated with pewter cap and mouthpiece, as well as polished bone diamond patterns inset. A very nice looking example. CONDITION: Very good with typical brown aging and spotting to iron blade, age split on haft that runs nearly full length but not not compromise integrity.
