One of 1776 cased 3 gun sets manufactured for the American Bicentennial in 1976. Contains the three classic revolvers representing the evolution of Colt through the ages to include the streamlined king of the snake guns, the Python, the old west classic Single Action Army, and the Dragoon, the largest of any Colt. All are decorated with patriotic motifs including "1776 - U.S.A. BICENTENNIAL - 1976" barrel markings in each gun. (A) Royal blue .357 Magnum Python double action revolver with 6" barrel, vent rib, target rear sight, non-fluted 6-shot cylinder that is roll marked with patriotic motifs and phrases. The 2-piece rosewood grips have a silver plated US seal. (B) Third generation .45 Colt Single Action Army revolver with blue 7 - 1/2" barrel, nonfluted cylinder roll stamped with American flag and the named 13 colonies, a case color frame, blue grip straps and one piece smooth rosewood grips with the silver plate US Seal. (C) Second generation .44 caliber 3rd Model Dragoon percussion revolver with a 7 - 1/2" blued barrel, 6-shot cylinder with standard roll die Indian fight scene, case color frame, tarnished silver plated grip straps and 1-piece rose wood grips with the silver plated US seal. Dragoon is accompanied by a powder flask, cap tin, bullet mold, and nipple wrench. All revolvers are housed in an attractive walnut 3 drawer display cabinet, red velvet lined and fitted. An additional slot is filled with a leather bound bicentennial edition of "Armsmear", Mrs. Colt's 1866 tribute to her husband. CONDITION: Excellent. All appear unfired showing in near new condition with handling. The Python has a ghost drag line but the others appear to not have one. A classic stunning Colt set.
