The tip up series was the first of the soon to be famous Stevens single shot rifles. They were offered from the 1870s through 1895. This appears to be the Ladies Model with smaller frame and a 12 3/8" LOP. Features the octagon to round blued barrel, nickel plated frame, lever and Swiss butt plate. This rifle has the matching walnut forearm which is far less common than those without. The forearm, barrel, frame and butt plate have matching numbers. This rifle has a barrel mounted Stevens No. 475 3/4" tube scope, a dovetailed front sight and empty rear slot. The screws are finished in bright blue with a case color hammer. "22 short" stamped under barrel. CONDITION: Excellent. The barrel retains most of the blue finish with some handling marks and a few light freckles. Barrel legends are crisp. The screws retain majority of blue. The nickel plating is 90% intact but there is some light bubbling and frosting with some high edge patina. The stocks are fine with some scattered dings and impressions. The scope has clear optics and retains 90% blue finish. The bore is bright. A very sharp example of a rarely seen rifle.
