Interesting circa 1860-1870s long bladed push dagger. Acid etch personalization on blade reads: "SIR ALGERNON BORTHWICK / FROM GEORGE SHEPARD PAGE". Algernon Borthwick was a journalist and politician, who notably owned the Morning Post. Page was an ardent trout fisherman and outdoorsman who gained notoriety as the man who brought the first trout eggs to England in 1869. The handle of the dagger is leather wrapped, and the original scabbard is present. Stamped near the ricasso:"W THORNHILL & CO / LONDON". CONDITION: Very good. Most acid etch remains with the only dark mossing near the leather wrap and ricasso.
