Standard Civil War issue carbine. Features round barrel, saddle ring and bar, right side patch box, Lawrence stamped rear ladder sight, post front sight, single barrel band, walnut butt stock with iron butt plate and matching forearm. The inspector stamp on left side of barrel at breech is AHK for Albert Kirkham. This same stamp is found on the attaching saddle bar plate on left wrist. Barrel has the Harford Sharps legend. Left side of receiver has the Sharps patent legend. Right side of receiver has the Lawrence legend along with Sharps. Top of barrel is stamped New Model 1863. CONDITION: Fine. The barrel is a smooth patina with scattered freckling and sharp barrel legend. All the receiver case colors have darkened but legends good. Stock shows some scattered dings and impressions. Action works correctly and the bore is sharp with minor abrasion. A really honest Civil War Sharps.
